Electrical Muscle Stimulation
Electric muscle stimulation is a form of therapy that involves low levels of continuous electrical impulses delivered to the injured and painful areas to aid in pain reduction and healing.
During stimulation the body sends blood and oxygen to the areas and increases production of endorphins that are natural pain relievers. Electric muscle stimulation is used to treat both acute and chronic pain. It is also beneficial for injuries to the muscles, joints and soft tissues.
Dr. Hegseth utilizes electric muscle stimulation for a wide variety of conditions in his therapy suites. He will consult with you, the patient, to determine if this is a treatment modality that will be of benefit.
